How Can School-based Therapists Successfully Navigate and Implement Different Push-in Models?
Question
Answer
Therapists can use several distinct push-in models, ranging from whole-class, therapist-led lessons to small-group stations to direct, one-on-one assistance at a student's seat. To get started without becoming overwhelmed, practitioners should initially choose a flexible, open-minded teacher who has at least one OT student on their caseload. Collaborating to identify specific problem times or performance areas allows the therapist to align their support with the classroom's existing daily routine. Writing out structured lesson plans and always maintaining a dedicated "push-in bag" filled with versatile resources will dramatically boost a therapist's confidence and adaptability in the room.

SEL is required for successful participation in most areas of occupational performance and falls well within the scope of occupational therapy. This webinar will immediately provide you with specific strategies to address SEL within your current role.
