Is there a recommended place in the class that would be most suitable for a child that is using a stability ball?
Answer
This depends on the set-up of the classroom and the behavioral presentation of the child. We haven't specifically looked at differential placement of the stability balls within the classroom, so clinical judgment will need to be used here. If you have a child who loves attention and is reinforced by peers, it would probably be a good idea to place this child and their stability ball "seat" towards the back of the room where she/he is less likely to attract attention. If, however, the child presents with more inattentive symptoms and needs to be in closer proximity to instruction and the classroom teacher, this child may need to be in the front of the room.
