Can a myoelectric prosthesis work on a frail person without muscle bulk?
Answer
It can. Electrodes have amplifiers to increase signal. We also recommend pre-prosthetic myosite training with use of surface electrodes held on by coban to the skin. There are also games to practice the accuracy of producing the signals (i.e.MyoBoy).
