Following a brief anatomical review of hand structures in order to ensure understanding of the theory, purpose, and methods behind many dynamic splint designs, Dr. Davin offers a comparison of the qualities of static splinting as compared to dynamic splinting. An overview of various dynamic splinting options is introduced and serves to build foundational knowledge as it relates to dynamic splinting in preparation for upcoming courses within this series.

It is estimated that 50% of women experience some degree of pelvic organ prolapse (POP). This introductory course advances the understanding of POP and introduces treatment techniques for this growing patient population.

This course will summarize the recommendations of the recently published Communication Guidelines in Rett Syndrome. Best practices for assessment and intervention of communication in individuals with Rett syndrome will be described and demonstrated.

This course will review fundamental principles of yoga and demonstrate simple movements and breathing techniques that can be applied when working with adult patients in acute care and outpatient settings. Benefits and contraindications will also be discussed.

This course is a review of scar biology and abnormal scar development, with a focus on those scars that may pose barriers to function. Information is provided on conservative care provided by OTs, including scar assessment, intervention, and outcomes measurements.
