Cerebral Palsy Review: Facilitating Functional Outcomes
Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in children, affecting 1-4 out of every 1,000 live births around the world. Current research overwhelmingly supports top-down, function & occupation-based interventions to improve skill performance and participation for children with CP. The Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Approach, has proven to be an effective OT and PT intervention for improving functional goal performance and participation in kids with CP. This presentation will provide an introduction to the use of the CO-OP Approach for children with CP.
