It's a very good introduction to using gardening in OT practice. However, the course could benefit from an expanded explanation of adaptations and modifications that are used with various clients, adaptive tools, processes, tips.

I loved how practical this was. I really feel like I could give it a try just with the information provided. I just started a gardening group in an outdoor area in the hospital where I work and already seeing the benefits. I think micro-dwarf tomatoes would be a great project indoors over the fall and winter months. Thanks so much!

As a lover of gardening and plants myself I really enjoyed learning about the benefits, barriers and how to bring gardening into our occupation based interventions specifically small micro-dwarf tomato plants. I enjoyed how the instructor went through research, evidence, the importance of using tomato's & why as well as overall care of the plants. She also had pictures throughout for visual learning and explained other ways to house and care for these plants that would benefit our patients.

It gives me insights on using horticulture as a therapeutic intervention. As I am working in home health now, it is a very good idea to use it as a therapeutic intervention for the geriatric patients who need to stay home most of the time due to the pandemic. The instructor gave a detailed information on how to grow the micro-dwarf tomato plants. Together with the photos, it is much more clear to understand and gives me motivation to try planting at my home first.

I have used therapeutic gardening in a small house concept living facility for retired military members and family with raised gardening beds. Having knowledge of the use of micro-tomatoe plants will greatly increase the ease of establishing such a program. The minimal cost and no need for additional staff to implement will also greatly increase the likelihood of a positive endorsement from upper management.
