The instructor seemed very knowledgeable, admitted lack of research and a need in the field of OT with TBI (lack of standardized testing) and encouraged other practitioners to conduct research. This instructor was easy to listen to and talked slow enough to gain full understanding and I was able to process what she was saying.

This course provided basic information that clarified OTP’s roles in RTW, following BI. It educated participants on the fact that sometimes non-standardized cognitive assessments are used, but due to the fact that they are not always recognized as third parties, occupational performance assessments give a clearer example to these same parties.

This course is a well organized overview of the role executive function deficits can negatively effect post brain injury individuals return to work. It delineates the basic facets of choosing the best assessments relative to the type of work environment as well as some of the treatment approaches/interventions one might use. A good solid course. Would love a part two to get more in depth than would be practical in a 1 hour session.

OTR/L, Yvonne Monti did a great job with identifying executive functions deficits from a TBI and how they interfere with a clients return to work (RTW). With there being 2.8 million cases annually of brain injuries OT'S interventions are so important. There are many motivations to get back to work such as financial, aid in recovery, and to get back to normal. RTW is so important and OT's play a big role in it.

So very interesting that AOTA appears to be positioning OT more in to the cognitive arena. We are exactly qualified to pursue cognition and so under appreciated/utilized in that vital upholding of the very basic fundamental processing of any and all function. Spit it out! I love it. We are the roots of the tree of life. My friend Connie OTR would love my comment.

Excellent course, I particularly enjoyed how a single case study was pulled through every step of the way through the course! It really helped put into prospective how we can approach each patient's needs using multiple frameworks, modalities, and EMPOWER them to really take an active participation in their own rehab and even include loved ones and/or coworkers to RTW! Its a breath of fresh air to focus on addressing deficits in EF instead of just work conditioning and work hardening.
