Gina Ord grew up with younger siblings with disabilities; one with Down's Syndrome and one with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which inspired her to pursue a career as an occupational therapist. She has practiced occupational therapy since 2005 in a variety of settings, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and outpatient centers for both children and adults. She is a trained yoga instructor and has had a lifelong interest in health and nutrition. She currently works as an Assistant Professor for Washington State University Extension, directing community-based health and nutrition programs, including parent caregiver self-care workshops.
