I thought this topic was fascinating-I had not heard of cognitive disengagement syndrome before. I am around children a great deal (although not in a school setting), so I was very happy to learn new information. The more we know how to support children and young people, the better!

Very interesting, wasn’t even aware of this topic. I appreciate her showing environmental toxins play a role, as with most of these issues; inflamed body and brain does a lot of damage. ADHD is caused by childhood trauma, that’s irrefutable. Wonder what’s the connection with trauma and this. SE therapy would be a great complement to OT, Never psychiatry.

This is the first time I'm ever hearing about this newly-branded condition that is essentially erasing ADD. It's also not in the DSM yet so I'm not sure that we can start diagnosing if we don't have evidence-based standards. But I like how thorough the author explains this diagnosis. This contains all the information you need to grasp the concept, in addition to practical implications for OTs treating kids with this condition.
