I really enjoyed the way Zara explained everything! I’ve had therapists give a family member vagal nerve exercises before without explaining why they should do these things and follow through was poor. The presenter shared her deep understanding of concussion and pain, that pain is always created in the nervous system (brain), the definition of pain versus chronic pain. I loved the excellent strategies for reducing pain by stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, pacing strategies, and slowly increasing exercise. I learned a lot of new tools to educate and treat my clients who have experienced concussion/ TBI, and I am excited to apply my new learning!

More needs to be done on this subject. It is a real problem and even Mayo's concussion clinic OT's and PT's could not get it right. More OT's that have experienced this and been able to rehabilitate themselves need to speak up. Thanks. I really enjoyed the organization of the presentation and the way it was delivered!
