Love the focus on evidence-based practice! This is fantastic. I would love more continuing Ed content like this. I don't care if I have been using something and then I need to shift, I want to do what is most effective for the client of course.

I appreciate the content of this course and believe EBP has an important role in practice. That being said, ABA is highlighted as a “green light” intervention. Neurodiverse individuals who were in ABA programs, in addition to professionals formerly involved in ABA practices have renounced these methodologies as they can be ableist, not client centered, dismissive of client autonomy, and abusive. I wish this was addressed.

As an OT in the middle of transitioning from working with adults to pediatrics, this course and Novak's article were particularly helpful in guiding me in how to prepare for pediatrics. In school, prior to the article, most of my clinical experience in pediatrics was very heavily focused on many of the interventions that are poorly supported by evidence. I now have good resources for setting appropriate family/client-centered goals and supervising their care.

This explained what I had been questioning in my own practice. Rather than using complicated lingo for simple activities that do not typically carry-over into the client focused goal of function, this course leads us to a research article that will lend to seeing real results using evidenced based practice activities. I am looking forward to digging in further and would really like to hear more about it.

So full of great evidence-based practice relevance. I really appreciate the break-down of the article to make it more reader friendly. It makes so much sense and kind of turns OT on it's head for those of us who have been in the field for a while. Thanks for the info and giving us something to really think about to improve in our field and to help our clients. Sometimes it's easy to just glide along doing what we've always done. I appreciate the challenge to think deeper and more methodically about what we are doing it and why we are doing it. Great discussion!
