Pamela Toto is an Associate Professor and Director for the Doctor of Clinical Science in Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research and expertise focus on the implementation of person-centered interventions to promote independence, participation, and healthy aging in older adults. Dr. Toto has over 30 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, providing services to older adults with both acute and chronic conditions as a clinician, manager, and consultant in both community and long-term care settings. She is board certified in Gerontology by the American Occupational Therapy Association and a recognized Fellow for her expertise and leadership in gerontology. Dr. Toto’s current research includes implementation of CAPABLE for older adult and their caregivers through an Area Association on Aging and a pragmatic trial exploring the implementation of patient-centered cardiac rehabilitation for older, complex patients with cardiovascular disease.
