Content was all over the map-- rambling, disorganized, vague and non-specific. Her manner of speaking leaned toward sexybaby/fundie-baby which impaired her credibility, as did the rambling and the excessive use of "kind of." There were times that it seemed she had not completed her thought, for example, was she about to advocate for a "smart fridge" or to caution against this.

There were some interesting concepts that I'll use going forward. I do wish there was more of a focus on adaptations and ways to increase safety for those who don't have the funds for remodel, technology, and who live in rural areas.

The instructor is well versed in her study and knowledge of those individuals who suffer with Dementia. I really liked the idea of how the instructor made it very clear that a non threating environment (clutter free, well lit, with as much natural lighting as possible, and equipped with hand rails) is extremely necessary for one who has dementia in order to thrive and function at that individuals optimal level.

The ideas were very good and multifactoral, as the instructor recommends. But pairing them with real life scenarios would really help embed the concepts for the course participant. There was a case study at the end of the lecture that that presented client factors and environment factors but this was not expanded upon or discussed.

I really enjoyed this course, the instructor spoke very evenly and clearly allowing us to process the information we were learning, she gave great examples of home modifications that are dementia friendly and relating it back to OT practice. I also thought it was great that she incorporated technology that can increase function in those with dementia since technology is always advancing and evolving. Overall, I think it was a great presentation!

The information was basic and had explanation for ideas. Content did not seem to be backed by research. She said to add plants in house because everyone likes plants. No evidence that plants will improve the environment was presented and actually this contradicts that she stated not to add things because it might confuse the person. The information provided appeared to have no data to support and suggestions were vague. The course could have been done in 10 minutes. Waste of my time.
