Although natural disasters are unpredictable at times it is beneficial to discuss the importance of having an evacuation plan. I liked how this course specifically addressed the perspective of a person with and without a disability in terms of an evacuation plan. For a person with sensory processing dysfunction and or disorder it is helpful to know the challenges they might encounter during an evacuation and to provide a plan and provide insight on things that can be done to try to help.

The instructor was well prepared, easy to listen to, relatable, and identified so many areas of natural disasters and evacuations that I have never thought of before. Living in Charleston, SC I often think about the requirements of evacuations but am embarrassed to say I never really thought about how that impacts our clients directly. This was hugely informative and will absolutely be put into practice if needed!!!

It was very informative on making effective emergency evacuation plans. As a school-based therapist, I was hoping for more information on making effective plans for our students who are participating in drills or evacuations while at school. As a clinic based tool, I think this would be extremely helpful.

I live in Los Angeles chose to take this course because within the last month, several huge wildfires destroyed thousands of acres- including homes, schools, and other important locations in multiple communities. Evacuation may have been necessary for many of the families I work with and I realized that I was not fully prepared with good information to share with them. This course was full of helpful information including specific, practical strategies to use in the event of an emergency.
