Strategies for integrating simulations into a curriculum and how to utilize them in Level 1 Fieldwork Experiences to meet specific 2020 ACOTE Standards will be explained. Initial pilot study results will be discussed.

- After this course, participants will be able to describe pilot study results investigating user perceptions, satisfaction, and efficacy of a computer-based simulation platform.

Clint Johnson is an SLP and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). Currently, he is the Vice President of Simucase Education and trains faculty and students to use computer-based simulations successfully. Mr. Johnson has been an SLP for 24 years and has experience working in universities, home health, outpatient rehab, and in the schools.

Maura Lavelle
MS, OTR/L
Maura is an occupational therapist who has worked in adult rehabilitative medicine across various care settings. In addition to practicing as a clinician, she has experience in robotics, cutting-edge technologies, and clinical trials for neurological populations. Maura is a Certified Telehealth Facilitator and a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Occupational Therapy. Her research interests include the use of technology platforms for motor and learning outcomes. Maura holds a master’s in occupational therapy from Columbia University and a bachelor’s in human development from Cornell University.
