The Driver Of Function: Postnatal Pelvic Health Virtual Conference
Course: #6584Level: Introductory 1 Hour 581 ReviewsPelvic health is an emerging practice area of occupational therapy, but it doesn’t have to stay in a silo. Pelvic health is something that all occupational therapy practitioners can integrate into their practice setting. We should be looking at pelvic health as our foundation of function and what that means as we work with people through the lifespan. This course is going to cover pelvic health 101; giving you a taste of what to look at, when to refer, and your role as an occupational therapy practitioner. We will also be discussing the changes that happen with pregnancy and postpartum. This is Day 2 of the Postnatal Pelvic Health Virtual Conference.

Kyrsten Spurrier
OTR/L
Kyrsten found pelvic health after experiencing birth trauma from her first son’s delivery. She found herself asking why her pelvic health PT was not addressing the mental and emotional aspects that came along with pelvic floor dysfunction and felt like occupational therapy practitioners were the best professionals to address these issues. Therefore, her journey in pelvic health began. Fast forward 7 years, she has owned her private practice for 3 years and has been allowed to impact people’s lives in her community of Hillsborough, NC, in a holistic and compassionate way.
