Helene's steps and description was clear and practical. I have coached and mentored staff (OTs and from other departments). The techniques related to to active listening (literally allowing silence and controlling myself to not say anything right away) is a good reminder and which is an area that I need to improve on.

I love this approach. It's close to how I already practice. I did not realize I was using a coaching approach before taking this course. But I do believe that a client centered approach where we elicit the healing path from the client themselves is generally more successful and empowering and the client feels better about the whole process. WIn-win. Made me interested in learning more.

The workbook provided was a great way to help feel more engaged during the course. You felt more actively involved in the learning process. It really goes in hand with the course content - you want all parties to be involved and the "buy-in" is more meaningful. I really enjoyed the active listening portion of the course because I know this is an area that I continue to work on. That important PAUSE can be one of the hardest things to do!

The content was explained very clearly, the example was compelling, it seems that this way of working yields results. My concern is that billing insurance and an inpatient setting would be problematic.
