Some of the key phrases were very helpful especially when difficulty getting participation from family members. Letting them know the value they bring in helping their child reach goals is a great way to improve carryover between sessions. Also love the focus on utilizing skills that the client is already excelling at to address more difficult situations.

The content was descriptive in that it discussed components of coaching; however, I felt like the examples of implementation fell short and were not always OT/camily-centered or truly applicable to the work setting. A lot of focus on results as opposed to concrete ways to implement.

The knowledge and skills presented were very good and appropriate. These are skills that I use all the time when I do OT. It's a necessity to be able to gain client centered and engage clients, caregivers to get the coaching and get anyone onboard and invested in working toward the goals. Uncovering inner skills and strength of client/caregiver should be looked at all the time.Good course for entry level therapist....

This course was at a level for OTA/OT students, not clinicians, in my opinion. I am an adjunct instructor with OTA students, and even they would have wanted more specifics. I think pairing this speaker up with an OTP would have been effective; this way we get her expertise knowledge plus her parent perspective as well as an OT/OTA's view. I have been using the coaching model for 20 years but was hoping to hear more than generic things I could have read in an article not even for OT's.
