The videos segments were a great addition. I would love future courses that delve into case studies. I have stories for days over experiences working in a hospital for over 20 years where sex and gender werent clearly communicated in a medical chart and it led to poor care communication for the patient.

As a gay man and COTA, this topic is of special interest to me. The presenter provided statistics that showed the discrepancies in the quality of care for LGBTQ people and non-LGBTQ people, which helped me understand how inclusivity in all areas of healthcare can lead to better care for all clients.

This course was excellent! It addresses in very practical ways, what is preventing a large segment of the population from getting equitable health care and how that can be improved. This is particularly needed in rural or underserved areas where there is decreased exposure to the LGBTQ community, despite its undeniable presence in the community. Bravo, Liz!

Liz was a very knowledgeable speaker who was warm and engaging. Her use of films was a great tool to enhance the presentation and reinforce the learning objectives. I agree with the moderator that Liz should add "filmmaker" to her credentials! Her passion for educating others on LGBTQ issues and how to increase our own knowledge and spread a culture of inclusion, understanding and appreciation for those who identify differently was apparent and infectious! Excellent course and would be beneficial to have this course available to others.

I love the statement, "Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly at first." I think that this is important for healthcare workers to hear.
