- After this course, participants will be able to list 3 important ingredients to include in a wheelchair skills training intervention to facilitate children’s and adolescents’ motor learning and active engagement and list 2 innovative approaches for delivering wheelchair skills training.

Béatrice is an occupational therapist with experience working in pediatrics. She completed a master's degree in public health and is now a PhD Candidate in rehabilitation sciences at Université Laval in Quebec, Canada. Her project aims to co-adapt and evaluate the Wheelchair Skills Training Program for improving wheelchair mobility and other rehabilitation outcomes in children and adolescents. She is a member of the Wheelchair Skills Program Pediatric sub-committee, an international team of experts on pediatric wheelchair mobility. She collaborated on four research projects on innovative approaches for pediatric wheelchair skills training (e.g., peer-led program, dance camp including wheelchair skills training). She is supervised by Krista Best, PhD and Marie-Eve Lamontagne, OT PhD.
