Jayne Knowlton

Jayne Knowlton, OTD, OTR/L, began her practice in Occupational Therapy in 1988. She focused on outpatient orthopedics. In her early career, Ms. Knowlton became a Certified Hand Therapist and enjoyed many years of practice. She transitioned to the manager of an Occupational Therapy Department in a medium-sized hospital, then went on to found Rehabilitation Specialists of Rochester in 2001. For the past thirteen years, she has been working for the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in a variety of OT practice roles.
Ms. Knowlton has designed a female urinal “AquaEve” for the bedbound patient and created a company to bring AquaEve to market. She guest lectures on the development of adaptive technology and rehabilitation topics.
Following obtaining a Post-Professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy Program at Boston University on September 25, 2018, she became Dr. Knowlton and transitioned to working at Roberts Wesleyan College as the Interim Director of the developing Occupational Therapy Program.
