This course was very organized and explained well. Reflexes can be confusing to remember when you don't use the knowledge often. One hour is a tight time to squeeze it in, but this course was organized in a way that I can walk away with immediate exercises to suggest to teachers to use to make movement breaks even more meaningful.

It was helpful to have the refresher of the reflexes (though seeing the picture before the description would be more helpful than the way it was presented). For a one-hour course it could only go into so much depth, but it is really hard to believe that reflexes affect so many areas (like emotional regulation and learning differences), and the references didn't support some of the claims. That being said, it gave me additional things to consider and monitor during evaluations and treatment.

I would have liked more differentiation and pictures of the last 2-3 reflexes. In her talk, she breezed through those and they all seemed similar.Maybe switch and describe the postures/motions with pictures first, then explain what that reflex impacts.

The speaker did not provide supporting information or research to elaborate on how reflexes relate to what you see in school/clinic, she glossed over that information at times. She should have had a slide regarding when the reflexes integrate. The speaker often said, "You know." and would apologize for not knowing some information. She was not very articulate.

I am admittedly a skeptic when it comes to all of the claims about retained reflexes (and I have taken several courses including MNRI). This course did nothing to change my mind. The sweeping generalizations made about how "retained reflexes" might look and impact function without further explanation was not helpful. I have actually found this in other reflex trainings as well.

I enjoyed reviewing the baby reflexes, moro, ATNR, STNR, palmar reflex, spinal galant (provide a foundation for standing and walking). Talking about how we can see traces of non-integrated relexes, gravitional insecurity, poor bilateral coordination, increased pressure on pencil due to increased flexion in fingers, difficulty copying from a board due to STNR, etc. I also thought all the intervention ideas were simple and applicable in a classroom setting.

For a one hour course I thought she did a great job getting to the point and reviewing the most important info. It might have been helpful to group things differently. For instance, talk about the function of moro, how it impacts school function, and then exercises to integrate. It was a little confusing when jumping around. Overall good course though

I would like to learn the research behind how she came up with the list of characteristics of each reflex. I would like to know how you evaluate each of the reflexes? is there grading to how severe it is? how do you measure progress?
