subject matter is important. inspired to see some academics putting words to the obvious - nature is healing - and advocating for therapy to occur outdoors for better outcomes and overall health. It's refreshing to see the important connection between person and planet is acknowledged and given value as well. I am interested in the packet of resources mentioned, but failed to find them yet. i'll keep looking

So much relevant information! Nature is truly a strategy with reducing stress and serving as a reset in a physiological form through sensory integration. This can be extremely significant to young, developing children to lay the foundations for appropriate coping techniques.

The impact of being able to take my patients outside during my career has always been so beneficial on their mental health, safety awareness, physical engagement in activity (IE teaching a SC pt how to navigate in his wc to access all outside spaces safely},return to meaningful activity performance after injury/CVA-teaching safety w/use of yardwork tools, positional changes to access flower beds andcompensatory/ pacing strategies for falls prevention on uneven turf.

I’ve always believed that kids and adults should be positively involved with nature. I just hope that this can be promoted more rather than seeing people plugged in to their devices. I enjoyed the talk. The theories were not discussed that much in the talk for them being quiz questions. And with only 5 questions, it made it more difficult to pass, but I fortunately did:) Thank you for promoting therapy with nature!

The presentation provides a wide range of holistic interventions and application of evidence - based theory that supports the case scenario to perfeccionisme. These activi ties allow the learner to apply these with the use of client centered models to evaluation to develop proficient - tailored interventions for treatment that support outcomes that promote rejuvenation of the body, spirit , & mind with activities that are great for adult , community, Private-practice and school-based settings.

I feel this interview just scratched the surface and I found the Harnessing Nature for OT course to be much more thorough and thought provoking. Overall, good course, met objectives, but I didn't get as much out of it as I would have liked. Rated as very good due to some technical difficulties which may have impeded learning to some degree. So I read all the transcripts/handouts and did independent research to learn.

This was a great resource! I work as an OT in an adult day program/ health center. I started a garden club last year with outdoor raised garden beds and lots of roses in containers. It has been the most meaningful work I’ve done in my career. People who weren’t apt to do anything are working in the garden! People are socializing, laughing, learning, working on gross and fine motor skills and bonding together! It’s beautiful! I will check out your book!

I am an OTR and I.studied landscape architecture and ergonomic in 1980’s. Neither profession was willing to accept the value or role of ot in LA, not even Univ of Wash! How wonderful that has changed. I think it would be interesting if the speaker discusses the work of Olmsted, discussed environments like old field or sNF with gardens and walking paths in the center enclosed courtyard, and discussed the success of the poor farms eg now Mcmennemens in Portland.
