I appreciated the approach of identifying what was good and what could have been better during treatment, as well as acknowledging how we all make mistakes and grow. It helped me reflect back on my experiences and interactions in the same way. Thank you!

I love how the presenter provided video examples on how to support students during those times of dysregulation and how clinician's can support and reflect on what went well or what requires further work to improve interactions with students who are dysregulated or in a fight/flight mode. I also enjoyed further clarification on how goals should be designed to support the strengths of students.

Videos were great, though I my district there are no special education schools and many children are served in the gen ed classroom, which can make safely and gradually dealing with times of significant dysregulation even more challenging. And no calming or sensory rooms.

This felt like a pat yourself on the back topic. Sometimes it feels like we are doing things to make us feel good and not what's best for the student. Neurodiversity means that these children may require different learning strategies but this feels very permissive. Saying that the teacher shouldn't say finish your work is absurd! There are demands in the world and our job is to help them emotionally regulate, not to prevent all instances. That does not serve them in the real world.
