Brittany Rohrer
MS, OTR/L
Brittany is an occupational therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience, including six years working primarily with patients in the heart and vascular critical care unit at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She is skilled in the assessment and treatment of patients with end-stage heart failure status post LVAD implantation and heart transplantation, patients requiring ECMO, and patients status post open heart surgery and vascular interventions. Brittany has established several evidence-based OT policies for evaluating and treating cardiac and vascular patient populations at her institution. She is regularly involved in training nursing and therapy staff on safe mobilization techniques for patients on ECMO. Brittany is passionate about educating her colleagues about OT’s significant role in early activity and mobility for patients with critical illnesses in the cardiac ICU setting. She is excited to be providing education on a wider platform on occupationaltherapy.com.
