I am not new to the field of OT, or peds, yet I learned a lot from this short course! I never realized the links between dyslexia, executive functioning and ADHD! Now I'll have a better lens when looking at kids we service, but also when looking at my own young children! Thank you!

Great background information- addresses areas OT's often feel less confident related to Dyslexia treatment and then provided with approaches more familiar in OT that are helpful in supporting students with Dyslexia (reduces some of the apprehension surrounding it)

There was good information, but it was hard to follow at times. In several instances, she talked about things that were not included on the slides or not related to the info on the slides. For example, there is a slide with a heading of “Executive Functioning” that has a chart from the OTPF on Body Structures, but she did not talk about body structures at all while on that slide. She gave long lists of information very quickly without giving the info on the slide, so it was hard to follow.

The charts defining the differences in Executive Function Disorder, ADHD, and Dyslexia are extremely helpful and have applications for colleagues as well as caregivers. The information is concise and clear. This article can be used in journal clubs for intense discussion regarding evidence-based best practices for students with dyslexia. Thank youP.S. I smiled broadly in agreement with the mention of the value of nature.

It is great to raise dyslexia awareness and to educate practitioners more about it. To understand the signs, reasons, ways of evaluating, and intervening will be so helpful in working with children with dyslexia and to be able to better inform parents, teachers, and other therapists on how to provide the best care possible.
