This course gives a lot of insight to the brain and body and how it responds to environmental factors. I believe it will help me to better explain to my families what their children may be going through - specifically in adoptive families.

This was more of a deep dive into PTSD which I do not know a lot about so this course was very informative for me personally. The use of CBT or DBT and sensory coping strategies are very straight forward practice techniques and the ability to use these in everyday life provides a functional routine for people suffering with trauma.

MOT, Zara Dureno's webinar is so important because there is a very high statistic of people walking around with PTSD and also CPTSD. Since the pandemic statistics have gotten worse. As a member of the LGBT+ Community I have seen a lot of PTSD & CPTSD in the community. As an COTA I never wanted to do my fieldwork or work in a mental health facility because it feels to close to home. This education is so needed though even if you don't work in a mental health facility because it effects all.
