Good general information, with an overview of the mental health needs in our students. Would really like to have spent a much bigger segment on the strategies/tools/suggestions for treatment rather than so much intro information. Very few people of really specifically focusing on mental health and we can take the sensory trainings.

The course was a good introduction to the basic concept that OT should have a place at the table in regards to mental health. Would love to see follow up courses that go more in depth, especially with children. How can we use our OT way of thinking to implement something to actually help our children? Some real-life examples or scenarios would be helpful. Thank you!

I did not learn much that is new to me. I would consider this beneficial to a new practitioner. I also feel that How Does Your Engine Run? is at the heart of the newer curricula and deserves acknowledgement. The great part of this is that I feel on par and knowledgeable about what we, as OT practitioners can do to support mental health in the schools. I feel supported and valued for my input on mental health discussions and by my colleagues in the elementary school I work in.
