I like that there was a handout version as well. I am not an auditory learner so the handout helped me better understand as well as to truly go at my own pace without feeling overwhelmed. I also loved that they went through each sensory system thoroughly and gave specific examples.

It was a great course with lots and lots of practical application which is fantastic. What I would love to see is more practical examples included for kids that might have sensory issues as well as physical disabilities. Especially in some of the earlier discussed topics with proprioception and vestibular activities. Grading some of the activities mentioned isn't possible if say the kiddo is also in a wheelchair.

Feel this was a general and more simple overview of the sensory systems and how they impact infants, toddlers and preschoolers behavior and functioning on a daily basis (good for educators and newer therapists). However, also a great resource for so many activities, ideas and stragegies that a therapist with little or a great number of years of experience can use/incorporate into their practices.

I realized that many of the kids I currently see have some of the behaviors and that the strategies being used were not effective because they were not the proper strategies. For example under-responsive and over-responsive kids and the difference in the strategies that could be used to assist with sensory desensitization. This information helps me have a better understanding on how to target those sensory issues, make progress during our sessions, and move forward.
