This course was very practical and functional to use in practice with patients with dementia. I especially appreciated the way she broke down the deficits and progression of the disease in each GEM state. And the Hand Under Hand approach will be useful to use in practice.

I have seen Teepa Snow speak numerous times in Seattle. My first time seeing her was 25 plus years ago. I find her philosophy to dementia to be very straight forward and common sense driven. Kind of like this course I just watched. I have used the hand under hand technique many times and it works. I was not aware of her GEMS States Model. Fun Fact: Does anyone know how old Teepa is now. It is not on the internet.

It was a synopsis of YouTube videos. I think there was so much effort put into this presentation that I hate saying something critical. I think the depth of knowledge became apparent while answering questions. I would be super nervous answering questions, but at the same time I just paid $129 to learn.

This presentation was very good and packed with excellent information. I was able to learn more about Teepa Snow's approach, models and techniques and how they can be applied in our OT practice. However, I wish the instructor spent more times on slides, often times she would talk very fast through them and each slide had a lot of information. I also wish she would have shown the actual YouTube videos that were a part of her presentation, I had to go on YouTube to watch them instead.
