The inclusion of photos of the reflex, and how to integrate it were incredibly helpful. The speaker provided a printable chart that would be very beneficial to keep on hand as well. The speaker also took the time to thoroughly answer questions from the audience at the end of her presentation which was very helpful.

This was very helpful! I knew about primitive reflexes but was not aware until recently how important they are, what types of issues they can cause, or that you can do exercises to help integrate them. The information provided was succint and laid out in a format that is easy to access and understand so that I can start incorporating it right away in my practice. Thank you so much!

Very useful and practical information, applicable to treating pediatric patients. Videos of the assessments, showcasing both integrated and regained, would’ve been helpful. Also, verbally mentioning the frequency and duration for the exercise in the presentation as it’s difficult to read everything on the slides during the presentation.

Not enough information about what elicits the reflex or response. Good information about what you might see as a result of retention but very little explanation of what the reflex is or how it's elicited for example if the head is tilted forward or back or side to side. I had to look that up on my own.

I was a little confused about whether or not the exercises she talked about could actually be expected to benefit the child's motor goals, given how she said the research doesn't support directly targeting reflex integration. But that supporting mature motor patterns is still appropriate. Would love to hear her elaborate more on this distinction in future presentations :) However, she went into good detail on testing and signs of retained reflexes which was helpful for my job in EI.

This is an area of practice not often disussed. I found this course to be informative and I liked how she broke down the testing, treatment adn home program for each. I wish she had videos to show what retained looked like during testing but the pictures were helpful. I appreciate that she emphasized AOTAs perspective on the treatment strategies, that the goal is not to integrate the reflexes but rather to increase more coordinated movmeent patterns.

I am happy to see a course about this. I know the research is limited and I educate parents about that when discussing it. However, the retained reflexes are clear to see upon evaluation and it remains a vital tool to understanding the full picture of what is happening with a child. This was an honest, clear, and evidenced-based approach to the subject.
