see above comments. I don't think this course should stay on this platform. There are many better courses regarding OT's role in chronic pain that include client-centered care and evidence based practice, unlike this course.

The information shared was good, but including sources would have made it stronger. Additionally, the presenter's use of derisive language such as "crazy" and "faking it" detracted from its applicability to occupational therapy. Viewing patients with suspicion is not appropriate and has negative implications for the therapeutic relationship.

I would have appreciated more specific treatment ideas, things that have worked for the instructor - what kind of functional activities do patients tend to stick with?I would like to have more info about CRPS after CVAI thought the instructor's frequent reference to these patients as "crazy" or "acting crazy" was pretty insensitive both to this population and those with mental health issues.Otherwise, it was a good overview for the time allotted.

As someone who was misdiagnosed with CRPS as a child, I found this course very informative and relevant. CRPS is consistently used as a blanket diagnosis for chronic pain without obvious cause. In my personal experience, my OT was my advocate because she recognized that I was misdiagnosed with CRPS. I hope that the education provided by this course, enables other OT's to be an advocate for their patients in the case of a misdiagnosis.
