This text based course is a transcript of the live webinar titled "Cultural Competence in the Clinic", presented by Roxie Black PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA.

>> Roxie Black:  This presentation does build on some of the information from my first presentation, but essentially we are moving forward.  Instead of talking about an introduction to cultural competence, we will talking about what culturally competent care is in the clinic and whether it is even possible.  We will be talking about cultural assessments.  We will be going over a video and talking about the skills represented there, and again discussing some of the barriers and the supports for culturally competent care.

Quick Review of Culture and Cultural Competence

Just a reminder for those of you who were with me in the first session, when we talk about culture, we are talking about a very broad comprehensive idea of culture.
