Cultural humility and competence for occupational therapists in international and domestic therapeutic settings will be covered in this course. It will include experiential scenarios for providing services and outline skills used to maintain cultural sensitivity and competence while engaged in OT services.

Age-related sarcopenia has become an emerging concern among healthcare providers, and recent research suggests a strong correlation between muscle mass and longevity. This presentation will discuss the evidence behind this growing concern, along with potential interventions that can be performed by the occupational therapy practitioner.

The challenges neurodivergent children face in hospital settings are well documented by medical researchers, healthcare professionals, and autistic and/or ADHD individuals, themselves. Despite this, hospital personnel often fail to consider the unique sensory and communication needs of many neurodivergent children. Occupational therapy practitioners can improve outcomes by utilizing neurodiversity-affirming principles and advocating for more sensory-friendly hospital environments.
